What is web hosting? Web hosting is an Internet-based
service that is required to store and provide your website
whenever someone visits. Good service is important because
poor hosting could result in downtime, and the more often
your site is down, the less likely people will want to visit.
Hosting is usually paid on a recurring (monthly) basis.
Why do I need quality hosting service? While
saving a few dollars per month may seem important to any small
business, there are more important factors other than cost
such as flexibility, support, and reliability. Oftentimes,
a cheap hosting service may boast plenty of disk space but
won't answer the phone during periods of downtime. Or worse,
they may go out of business without forewarning you!
Which is right for me? Many hosting companies
claim to give you seemingly endless amount of disk space,
bandwidth, email accounts, etc. for 12¢ per month. (That's
an exaggeration.) The truth is, you only need enough to operate
efficiently. Most small businesses can start off with our
Starter package, while dynamic websites and e-commerce sites
will probably need the Standard or Professional package. You
can downgrade/upgrade at any time, so if you choose the wrong
package, we'll make sure we help you migrate to the correct
one. :)
Can I install software to run on my site?
As long as you are within our terms of service (www.toneee.com/legal),
you may install any software within your domain. Nearly all
of our hosting accounts can handle popular titles such as
WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, osCommerce, Gallery, etc. Our larger
packages can even handle robust systems such as SugarCRM,
Zoho Virtual Office, GroupOffice, and others.
Can I use Microsoft Office Outlook or my web browser
to check my domain email? Absolutely! In fact, we
feature video tutorials and automatic configuration options
in our award winning hosting control panel.
Should I use my personal account to answer emails
from my website? We do not recommend using a personal
or free email account to answer email from your website for
3 major reasons reasons. For one, it looks more professional
to answer from your domain email. Secondly, it helps your
prospects and customers decipher your company mail from junk
mail. And lastly, what can hurt worst than losing important
business correspondence because you no longer have access
to your personal email account? Using your domain email helps
you keep your business correspondence separate from personal
email and provides a much more professional look overall.
What type of web technologies does your hosting service
support? We have equipment that can support the majority
of web technologies out there including (but not limited to):
HTML; XML; Adobe Flash; Java; Cold Fusion; Microsoft®
FrontPage® extensions; PHP, Perl; Web 2.0; MySQL; Microsoft®
Windows Media Player; SSL; and much more.
Can I test drive your hosting control panel? Absolutely!
Please contact us to test drive and walk through our hosting
control panel options.
